Over the past decade, the 15-strong team based in London and Lagos has advised some of the continent's most recognized tech companies and investors, including M-COPA, Andela, MaxAB and Ventures Platformhelping to shape communication around important moments such as Major funding rounds, product launches, crises, acquisitions and market expansion.
Strengthening its position as a leading storyteller in the tech ecosystem, in 2025, Wimbart launches wimbart route – A podcast of in-depth interviews with leading African tech space operators, investors, founders and journalists, including Ombola Johnson, Iyin Aboyeji and Tomiwa Aladekomo, looking at different aspects of the intersection of media and African tech storytelling.
The consultancy's growth has reflected the rapid growth of Africa's technology sector. Since 2015, startups across the continent have raised more than $20 billion, producing globally recognized unicorns and attracting increasing international investment. Over the past decade, Wimbart has worked with 230+ clients in approximately 20 countries, including its key markets, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Egypt. In February 2016, the company expanded with the launch of Wimbart LightLed by founding team member Maria Adediran, to provide communication support for early-stage startups.
