Ghanaian authorities have postponed until the last minute the evacuation of citizens from South Africa due to xenophobic attacks as the number of registered Ghanaians rose from 300 to 800.

The first batch of 300 Pipo bin De was expected to be transferred to the country on Thursday, May 21, but the Foreign Ministry's announcement said plans had not changed.

In a statement from the ministry, they said they would postpone the evacuation by a few days to allow them to obtain travel documents for the ODA Pipo Way Bin Register at a later date.

“With the new number of Pipo, taking into account South Africa's legal conditions such as passenger screening, flight permits and ODA, we are not going ahead with the planned evacuation,” the Foreign Ministry said.

He further said, “The High Commission should be allowed to fulfill the evacuation conditions for all passengers during the flight”.

The D statement also said Ghanaian and South African officials have not agreed to expedite the D process.

Officials say the High Commission will work closely with citizens and any ODA Pipo who wants to join the 800 Pipo registered to return home to ensure space for evacuees.

Even though they have not announced a new date for the evacuation, the Ministry of External Affairs has assured citizens to ensure they are safe as they go out.

Previous reports by local media said only one Pesin had come to DIA or Tambo International Airport for evacuation on Thursday, but I could not find any Ghanaian official to DIA.

“I'm a South African barber, I even sleep at the airport on Wednesday nights so I can get a chance to catch a flight because we'll be there a lot, but since I came here, I haven't found anyone,” a young Ghanaian barber told Newsroom Africa.

I add, “When I renew my asylum permit every three months I will stay there, using the passport to operate a barber shop.”

“But when the Ghanaian government said they should take us on board, I decided to join.”

Since the beginning of April, foreigners have faced harassment and threats from vigilantes and anti-immigration groups.

One of the March and March Bin groups accused the foreigners who collect the jobs in which they were involved in crime.

He says that all foreigners have been included in Dia Country, so locals can get jobs and ODA opportunities.

Anti-immigration protests have been taking place since early April

A video of some protesters in Ghana harassing me demanding my immigration documents, where I am working for my shop, went viral, causing international concern.

Ghanaian authorities have expressed concern about the incident in which they have condemned the harassment of a citizen – Emmanuel Asamoah, who was doing legal work for De Contre at the time.

Ghana's Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa described the incident as “unacceptable” and called for an investigation by South African authorities.

The government has since repatriated Emmanuel Asamoah to Ghana and offered him a job to restart his life.

Ghana petitioned the African Union for a mid-year coordination meeting to be held in Egypt in June for South Africa to discuss the issue of xenophobia.

Nigerian authorities have also issued a warning about attacks on their country's citizens and have also begun filing PIPOs on their country's citizens.

Countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi, Lesotho and Zimbabwe have issued advisories to their citizens to stay away from protest areas and stay safe as protests continue to take to the streets of South Africa.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has condemned the attacks on foreigners, but I deny that there is xenophobia.

My point is that the country Gaetz is investigating the issue of harassment and attacks on foreigners, but Dia Gov Gaetz has compromised on the issue of illegal immigration and undocumented foreigners who are attacking the country.

Ramaphosa says the influx of undocumented foreigners to the country puts a strain on some communities with little resources for local people.

Despite this, the United Nations (UN) and ODA groups are still calling on South Africa to protect foreigners from attacks in line with the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights.

Protests are still taking place in the cities of Durban, Pretoria, Mthatha, Johannesburg and Oda.

Militants and anti-immigration groups say they will continue protests until the end of the year.

In fact, Ghana's High Commissioner to South Africa, Benjamin Quashie, says the African Ambassador Network is going to court asking the mayor of d'Estcourt to return the keys seized from foreign shop owners to the municipality.

According to the High Commissioner, Mayor Mduduzi Mayeza has handed over the keys seized from more than 25 foreign shop owners to the locals and asked them to operate the shops.

“The mayor has also given foreigners 21 days to leave the area, we say the mayor's action is illegal.”

'Government should give some financial package to the returned citizens'

Minister of Foreign Affairs Oga Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa says the Ghanaian government is going to offer them a “welcome home financial package” for the pipes transported to Ghana.

I also announce the ODA tin to the citizens when they arrive at Dig for De Kontri.

The government will provide “transportation assistance” for them to various locations in Ghana.

They are also entitled to a “reintegration allowance” as well as free psychological support from the Foreign Minister.

Government agencies also put Dia's names into a database for jobs and ODA start-up opportunities, so that they can apply for jobs.

DIS plans to reintegrate DEM to D society after its withdrawal from DIA business and ODA TNS DEM bin DE to South Africa Before.

Pipo has already begun demanding full disclosure about the financial commitment given by the Government of Ghana to this entire project.

But officials say their immediate focus is to protect Ghanaian citizens from danger and attacks, but they may follow up after that.
