MasSmart is furthering its expansion with Walmart-branded store fronts across South Africa, with the third store set to open this Saturday, 28 February 2026 at East Point Shopping Center in Boksburg, Gauteng.
The company said in a post on X that the store is opening. It will join Walmart locations at Fourways Mall and Clearwater Mall. All Walmart locations are currently in the Gauteng province.

In terms of what customers can expect from Walmart Boksburg come Saturday, MasSmart says that “popular customer selections from Walmart Clearwater and Fourways, including affordable roast chicken quarters, delicious marbled sirloin steaks from the butchery, Dr Pepper drinks, Sour Patch Kids and Reese's chocolate bars, will be available in the new store from day one.”
He further added, “Based on customer feedback, we have also expanded our product offering with a wider selection of appliances which now includes fridges, vacuum cleaners and water dispensers.”
The ribbon cutting ceremony marking the opening of Walmart on the East Rand will be conducted by store manager Hector Amsen, a “22-year retail veteran.”
