Durban City have finally secured silverware after a dramatic 2-1 win over TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup final at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.
It was not straightforward, with Congolese striker Jean Lwamba at the center of the drama.
City started brightly and saw plenty of the ball, but after a moment trailing on the break Lwamba forgot, and headed the ball into his own net to give TS Galaxy the lead.

Durban city changes the game in style
The second part told a completely different story. Citizens came forward with urgency and purpose, pinning Galaxy back and asking more questions.
The breakthrough finally came just before the hour mark when Mfanaphuthi Mkhize arrived unmarked at the back post to tap home from Luphumalo Sifumba's low delivery.
With just over 10 minutes remaining, Lwamba stepped in to rewrite his story. Picking up the ball in space, he fired a stunning effort with the outside of the boot which went over the Ira Tape and into the net. From own goals to match winners.
History made for KwaZulu-Natal side
All the while, Durban City did it, it was their first major trophy, and a moment that will live long in the club's history.
It is also a huge success for interim coach Pitso Dladla, who guided the team to cup glory after securing promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.
For TS Galaxy, it is another final that slips through their fingers, unable to recreate the magic of their famous 2019 victory.
