1970 – Eddie Barlow scored 110 from 64 as South Africa scored 408 and Australia set a target of 486 to win the third Test at the Wanderers.

1993 -Brian Lara scored his first century against South Africa and scored an unbeaten 111 as West Indies defeated the hosts by nine wickets in Bloemfontein. South Africa had defeated West Indies in their last two matches in the tri-series, which also included Pakistan. The result meant that South Africa failed to reach the final. South Africa scored 185/6, with Daryl Cullinan top-scoring with 45 from 66 balls. West Indies won the match with 33 balls remaining.

1995 – Thanks to Gary Kirsten's 63 runs, the Proteas were all out for 203 runs and lost the four-nation ODI against New Zealand in Christchurch by 46 runs.

2013 – Resuming on 98, AB de Villiers scored 121 to help South Africa post 409 in the first innings of the third Test against Pakistan in Centurion. Kyle Abbott took 7 wickets for 29 runs, as the visitors were bowled out for 156 runs and were sent in to bat again.

2014 – Hashim Amla scored 127 not out, following on from 93 as the Proteas declared their second innings at 270/5 at St George's Park. They bowled out Australia for 216 and won the second Test by 231 runs, leveling the three-match series at 1-1.

2019 Sri Lanka became the first subcontinent team to defeat the Proteas in a Test series in South Africa after winning by eight wickets on the third day of the final second five-day match in Port Elizabeth and taking the series 2-0. Till then, only Australia and England had won series here. After trailing South Africa by 68 runs in the first innings, the visiting team bowled out the hosts for 128 runs in the second innings and then scored the required 197 runs in the 46th over.

2020 – Captain Quinton de Kock scored 70 off 47 balls as the Proteas reached 158/4 to beat Australia by 12 runs in the second T20 at St George's Park to level the three-match series 1-1. Lungi Ngidi took 3 wickets for 41 runs.

2020 Dan van Niekerk scored 46 as South African Women defeated England by six wickets, needing 124 runs to win, in the T20 World Cup match in Perth.
