Entries for this year's Miss South Africa beauty pageant are officially open.

The prestigious Miss South Africa pageant has officially opened entries for its 2026 season. Organizers have described it as an unprecedented new era focused on large-scale impact, entrepreneurship and social change.

Applications opened on 28 April and will close on 17 May. The call invites ambitious South African women aged 20 to 32 to participate in a platform that now extends far beyond the traditional pageant.

Under this redefined approach, Miss South Africa is not positioning itself as just a beauty pageant. Instead, it is a rigorous year-long leadership institute designed to develop women as influential public ambassadors. These ambassadors will be able to bring about real social change.

Patron Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe It was emphasized that the development of the platform reflects a strong national objective.

“Miss South Africa has entered a new era, focused on making an impact on a larger scale,” she said. She highlighted the organization's mission of building women who can lead locally and globally through service, innovation and impact.

At the center of this transformation is Empower Youth Africa (EYA), the organisation's flagship social and entrepreneurship programme.

Through EYA, contestants and finalists will actively contribute to important issues.

These include youth unemployment, entrepreneurship, access to education, health and well-being, financial literacy, civic engagement and pan-African cooperation.

This means that the candidates are no longer just competing for the crown. Rather, they are stepping into a demanding program that tests leadership, integrity, communication skills, emotional resilience and public accountability.

The organization is specifically looking for purpose-driven women who are ready for the pressures of mentorship, social impact work, and national representation.
