Suspended Tshwane Asset Protection Security Unit director Shkudu Malatzi has admitted ignoring instructions from his superior to cancel suspicious contractual work awarded to private security companies, according to reports. Brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande linked to the murders of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and celebrity chef Tebelo “Tibz” Motsoane are set to return to the Durban Magistrates Court to apply for bail, according to reports. COSATU criticizes whistleblower bill exclusion
According to reports, the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has raised concerns over public servants being excluded from receiving awards for whistleblowing. EWN. Justice Minister Kubayi issued the Protected Disclosures Bill to close loopholes in the existing law on whistleblowers. Deputy Minister Andries Nel explained that according to the bill, whistleblowers will not be given advance rewards, but can receive up to 25% of the monetary sanction imposed on the guilty employer.
