The Highway area is set to become the hub of elite lawn bowls as Port Natal Bowls hosts the Bowls South Africa Women's Open from May 2-10. The prestigious national tournament will bring together the country's leading women bowlers to compete across fours, pairs and singles disciplines.

With matches spread across multiple venues including Westville Country Club, Westville Bowling Club and Hillcrest Bowling Club, the event promises high-quality competition and wide community reach. For many players, this tournament represents the pinnacle of the domestic season, where seasoned competitors and emerging talent compete for national honours.

Local supporters will have a unique opportunity to see top level bowling up close, as Port Natal's own players take on the best players in the country. Westville Country Club will serve as a central hub, hosting sectional rounds in all formats. There will be doubles on May 2 and 3, followed by singles on May 4. The venue will also stage four sectional rounds on May 5 and 6, further cementing its role as a major venue during the competition.
Westville Bowling Club will showcase top contenders including Commonwealth Games gold medalist Colleen Picketh.
