…for the 5th consecutive year

Standard Bank, Africa's largest bank by assets, has once again been ranked by Brand Finance as Africa and South Africa's most valuable bank brand for the fifth consecutive year, with brand value growth of 19% year-on-year from R37,8bn to R45bn.

Standard Bank's consistent brand performance is driven by the strength of its purpose, the credibility of its delivery and the sense of agency, confidence and growth it gives to its people and customers.

Sim Tshabalala, Chief Executive of Standard Bank Group, says, “Being named Africa's Most Valuable Banking Brand for five years in a row is not something we take lightly. This recognition confirms the trust that our customers, partners and communities across the continent place in us. In line with our purpose, 'Africa is our home, we drive its growth', we are committed to driving sustainable growth on the continent.”

Margaret Nienaber, Chief Operating Officer, Standard Bank Group, says “Our brand is about people and impact. We are extremely grateful to every employee who contributes to our success and to every customer who continues to have confidence in our abilities to provide solutions to their needs.”

The Most Valuable Bank Brand accolade adds to a successive series of international recognition for Standard Bank.
