TechCentral has marked First anniversary of its partnership with published Opening a new, purpose-built studio for video interviews, podcasts and branded content production, as the publishing business moves into full-service media and content services for the business and technology sector.
The studio is now home to TechCentral's flagship podcasts, including Techcentral ShowAnd it is being used for branded content work produced in partnership with commercial clients.
“The studio allows us to provide clients with strong production quality along with the editorial credibility and access to audiences that only TechCentral can provide in the South African business sector,” said Michelle LoskoFounder of Published, which handles TechCentral's business partnerships. “That combination is what sets us apart. We are positioning ourselves as not just a publisher, but a full-service media and content partner for the business and technology sector.”
The transaction was between NewsCentral Media – publisher of TechCentral – and Published Announced in April 2025Bringing together TechCentral's editorial operations with a dedicated commercial team led by South African B2B media veteran Losko.
Twelve months on, readership has continued to grow, demand from advertisers has increased, and the commercial pipeline has expanded as brands seek to reach South Africa's business and technology decision makers in a trusted environment.
Techcentral Founder and editor Duncan MacLeod stated that the partnership deliberately maintained a strict separation between editorial and commercial functions.
Forum for Technology Leaders
“Our readers are senior business and technology decision makers,” McLeod said. “They know when a publication is serving its advertisers before its audience. We have maintained a clear separation between editorial and commercial from day one, and this is not changing. This is the single most important reason why TechCentral remains the platform that South Africa's technology leaders continue to read.”
Sponsored content on TechCentral is clearly labeled and produced to a standard that is consistent with the rest of the site. Losko said this approach was commercially relevant.
“Brands tell us they want credibility and engagement with a publication that their customers actually read. That's a stronger proposition than chasing clicks.”

The second year will bring further expansion of the editorial team, additional branded content formats and the continued build out of the combined company's events program, Losco said.
