Now a video has emerged showing a heated exchange between a business owner and a South African man over the recruitment processes at his company.
In the video, the unnamed business owner is seen getting out of his car when he is met by a man.
The man raised concerns that the owner allegedly hired workers from Zimbabwe, and asked why he could not hire South Africans instead, and questioned why the owner would hire outsiders at all.
He also cited his company and its name as “Lapo” when the owner questioned him on it and argued that South Africans had been waiting for job opportunities for ten years.
The owner asked the man to leave, saying that he would not employ his people. When the man asked why, the owner replied, “Why should I do that?” He also said that he has his own people.
When the man pressed further and asked if he meant foreigners, the owner clarified that he meant South Africans.
The conversation became tense when the man told the owner not to yell at him, to which the owner responded that the man had started yelling first.
