Siganeko Magafela, head of supply security at the De Fuels Industry Association of South Africa, says there is still stock available at supply depots, but delivery networks are under pressure.

“DI logistics is currently not able to meet the demand at DI service stations. Some companies report that DI demand (for volume) is three times higher than what it normally (handles),” it said.

Despite the disruption, Magafela said the good news was that supplies were still available at depot level.

“In case of backlog, the chances of recovery are high…it's just a matter of time,” and the matter.
