Maziv, South Africa's leading open-access fiber infrastructure provider, has announced a historic R9 billion investment pledge in the sixth South Africa Investment Conference. This significant capital commitment, spread over the next five years, is set to accelerate the country's high-speed digital rollout and includes a dedicated pledge to create 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities over 7 years, cementing Maziv's role as the primary driver of digital growth. This pledge follows the approval by the Competition Commission and ICASA of the acquisition of Vodacom's 30% stake in Maziv and marks a transformational chapter for Maziv and the millions of citizens who will benefit from enhanced connectivity.

Maziv's rollout plan will prioritize low-income and underserved areas; Ensuring that residents have access to high quality broadband. As part of its social mandate, Maziv will also provide 1 (one) Gbps free, uncapped access to every public or private school, public clinic and public library passed by its network, effectively turning digital infrastructure into a tool for social upliftment while supporting the modernization of South Africa's education and health care systems.
The pledge to create 10,000 jobs underlines Maziv's commitment to sustainable economic growth. These opportunities will include direct and indirect employment opportunities through a vast ecosystem of local SMME partners, installers and community-based service providers.
